Breakthrough of FC Bayern? Sabitzer at Nagelsmann "in good hands"
Marcel Sabitzer has not found his role in FC Bayern in the second half of his first season for the record champion. Nevertheless, the Austrian will receive further backing.
As a central midfielder, the position on which he matured in his time at RB Leipzig to the absolute leadership player, Marcel Sabitzer comes only sporadically at FC Bayern. Normally too big is the competition, and even after the failure of Leon Goretzka, head coach Julian Nagelsmann gave other professionals to the trust for the tasks in the control center.
And so Sabitzer helped over and over again in the past weeks on the unfamiliar left defense side - without being able to convince. At the 4-1 victory against climber Greuther Fürth, the 27-year-old was in the starting eleven, but acted on his side position on the right wing.
Only by the violation of Corentin Tolisso in the 25th minute and the associated changeover the ex-Leipziger moved next to Joshua Kimmich into the central midfield. Serge Gnabry took over for Marcel Sabitzer on the outer train.
Sabitzer starts with FC Bayern?
From Julian Nagelsmann the 58-fold national player then received the grade 3.0 after all. Especially after changing the central midfield, he had some really good moments, although he was replaced with the playing time and ultimately exchanged in the 87th minute by Marc Roca.
Support received Marcel Sabitzer now from his national coach Franco Foda. "Marcel is an extremely ambitious player. He brings runner, tactical, footballery and also mentally everything with," Foda said the "Tz": "I am convinced that he prevails with FC Bayern."
His protégé was aware of the change from Leipzig to Munich, "that the FC Bayern has other claims and is greater the competition on its position. But he is in good hands at Julian Nagelsmann," says the 55-year-old.
