Bartels commented on World Cup final - double women

As the SWR responsible for the ARD report from Qatar announced on Friday, Bartels will comment on the final on December 18 live on TV. The 56-year-old had already accompanied the final between Germany and Argentina in 2014. A premiere is planned on radio: for the first time in ARD history, a woman is supposed to comment on the final live.

Anyone who is entrusted with this task is not yet clear. Last July, Julia Metzner was the first woman to be responsible for the public law radio for the European Championship final in London between England and Italy. Until then, there had been a final commentator at a men's World Cup or only in the private radio.

And a second premiere is planned: Christina Graf will comment on the World Cup for television. She is the first woman to accompany the ARD live games of a World Cup finals.
