Bauhaus sprints in second place in Cuneo

Third finished ex-world champion Mark Cavendish from Great Britain. For Démare it was the third stage win at this year's Giro and the eighth success as a whole.

In the overall ranking, Emanuel Buchmann advanced to eight in place after the Frenchman Romain Bardet had to give up on Friday. The previous fourth was ill on Thursday, his condition had deteriorated overnight. Buchmann continues 1:09 minutes behind the Spaniard Juan Pedro Lopez, who has been wearing the pink jersey since the fourth stage when he had taken second place behind Lennard Kämna on Etna.
